What We Believe...

  • We believe in one God who exists in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and is the Creator of all things. He is totally loving and completely holy.

  • We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is God’s word to all mankind and was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to defeat sin and death. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that Jesus, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God.

  • We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Jesus

  • We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and believe that people can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. We believe that salvation is a gift from God to mankind and that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’, we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is our very present help in the world and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with supernatural power for living, and overcoming, discerning spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We are designed to live throughout the day in  relationship with him and to follow his leading moment by moment.

  • We believe in divine healing and that it is God’s will to heal and transform us through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ. We believe that God wants us healthy and blessed in order to help others more effectively and outwork our God given purpose on the planet.

  • We believe in water baptism which symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is a public declaration that a person has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Baptism does not save you but shows the world that you have already been saved. Baptism is not required for salvation but it is a biblical command and demonstrates a person’s love for, and obedience to Christ

  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit evidenced by signs and wonders. In order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit which enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues. This gift is freely given to advance the believer’s spiritual progress.

  • We believe in that the Church is God’s idea and that there is power in believers meeting together regularly for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’ as demonstrated by the early Church.

  • We believe that every person is uniquely created in God’s image. He has individually equipped  us so that we are engineered for success, designed for accomplishment and endowed with seeds of greatness to successfully achieve His purpose for our lives; this is to worship God, fulfil our role in continuously building the Kingdom, and serve the community in which we live.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return in person as He promised in His word.

Safeguarding

WHAT IS SAFEGUARDING?

Safeguarding is the protection of children, young, and vulnerable adults. It is about protecting those, who may not otherwise have a voice.

At Waymaker Church UK, we take Safeguarding seriously and are fully compliant in our safeguarding procedures.

As an Elim church, we are committed to creating healthy churches and safe spaces for all. We recognise the ways in which children and adults can be at risk of harm or abuse, so our aim is to create a culture which minimises opportunities for abuse to occur.

Children rely on adults to keep them safe, therefore everyone who is working with children, either directly or indirectly, is committed to safeguarding children in their care by providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children can reach their full potential.

Similarly, there are vulnerable adults in need of protection, care and support, whether this is a permanent or temporary state. Within our church there are relationships of trust, which flourish best within a healthy environments, where there is openness, transparency and accountability.

We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone in the Waymaker Church UK family has a role to play in keeping people of all ages, safe.

What's Happening at Waymaker?

Leadership Development

“Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.” John Maxwell

A popular definition of leadership is this: leadership is influence! The Bible has much to say and teach about influence. At Waymaker Church, we believe that leadership is not about position or  title but about the influence we have each day with the people with whom we interact. Jesus was the blueprint for this. By developing his twelve disciples, they went onto influence the world: this is leadership. Watch out for our twice monthly leadership quotes!

One Step at a Time

At Waymaker Church UK, we have a strong missional vision and believe that the Kingdom is built one life at a time. In Luke 15:7 it says 'I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.' We all mix with different people and need to sprinkle 'Holy Ghost Dust' to all we meet. Who can you influence for good today?
